2018 Recreational Player/Team Ratings:
Burlington Youth Soccer Club (BYSC) asks all U6-U21 House League coaches to complete player ratings for their players. As these ratings help us balance our teams for the upcoming seasons, this is a mandatory task. For this to work, we need our coaches to be as fair and accurate as they can with their ratings.
Team Rating:This relates to how the players on your team compare to one another. The best player on your team would be ranked 1, and if you have 12 players in total, the least skilled player would be 12.
This is a rating, similar to grades that are assigned in schools and can be compared with players in the league and their team. For example “Player 1 on Team X was superb when we played them, he would be an A+. My best player is probably not quite as good, so I will give them an A or A-“
We ask that all ratings are completed as soon as possible with as much clarity as possible. You are also able to add notes to the players to indicate further details, such as “player is always absent”. Please feel free to use the example chart below to help guide your judgement.
A Is strong on the ball with both feet and displays good passing ability over varying ranges. Has good coordination and balance on the ball. Can dribble with head up. Intuitive and can anticipate next play.
B Is competent on the ball with both feet and displays fair passing ability over varying ranges. Has fair coordination and balance on the ball.
C Is competent with their stronger foot, with limited use of their weaker foot. May have some physical literacy issues such as balance and coordinating movements.
D Struggles with their control of the ball with both feet and has physical literacy issues regarding their balance and coordination.
