HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMPS
The BYSC offers additional opportunity for skills development outside of our teams’ usual practices and training. The Club Technical staff, led by TD Kevin McGreskin, conduct extensive research to find the most current and innovative football (soccer) training from around the globe to implement at our club. Each season we will look to bring in some of the top football minds to offer supplemental specialty training to our players.
For the forthcoming season, the BYSC is excited to have already confirmed dates for two high-calibre international experts in training.
Saul Isaksson-Hurst, MyPersonalFootballCoach.com – “HP March Camp” (Mar 12 - 16, 2018)
Former Scotland international player, Simon Donnelly, was our guest coach for a high performance striker camp in August. Coach Simon Donnelly played for Celtic, one of the biggest clubs in Scotland, where he won Scottish Premier League, Scottish FA Cup and League Cup titles. Simon also played in the English Premier League (EPL) and was a member of the Scotland squad at the 1998 World Cup in France. After his impressive playing career, Simon continued on coaching in the Scottish and English professional football leagues.
Matthias Nowak – “Dynamic Brain, Creative Training” (March Break, 2016 & 2017)
Matthias is a specialist in “Creative Training”. Creative Training is advanced technical training focusing on multi limb drills while also developing cognitive skills in the participants. Matthias extensive soccer background includes over six years working with Bayern Munich Women and Youth teams in a development role. After 9 month (20 sessions) of working with Matthias Nowak, there has been a significant positive development in the ability of concentration and cognition as well as in the acting efficiency of my players. Furthermore my players achieved additional capabilities of solving complex situations during the game in many ways. This effect is due to the achievement of further coordinative variances with and without the ball. With his positively “crazy” personality Matthias Nowak was always able to motivate the young players to reach for their best and fulfill even most difficult exercises.
Tag Lamche – The “Playmaker” Camp (December, 2016)
The Playmaker Camp focused on an innovative training methodology to develop the sensory motor skills needed to compete at the highest levels of the game. During these sessions, Tag introduced the players to a unique pre-performance routine that research has shown to have a dramatic and positive impact upon on-field performance.
In football, Tag works 1-on-1 with a number of top English Premier League players. He also leads practical workshops at leading professional clubs. He has given presentations and led workshops with senior coaching staff and players at Chelsea, Everton, Bolton Wanderers, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, Southampton, and Leicester City amongst others.
Tag is the founder of EyeCoach®, a company that specializes in sports vision training. In 2010, The Times newspaper dubbed Tag as “the sensory-motor skills guru” as he works with world class athletes across a range of sports, including: Laura Robson (World no. 1 junior tennis player & Wimbledon champion 2008), Mel Reid (golfer, British Stroke Play Champion 2007), Chemmy Alcott (GB no. 1 female slalom skier and Winter Olympian of the year 2007), Euan Burton (Gold medallist 81k Judo World Cup 2010).
In preparation for the Beijing & London Olympics, Tag was hired as a consultant to the British Olympic Association on their Elite Performance Programme. He was head of SENSORY-MOTOR SKILLS development, working as one of a group of specialist coaches brought together from around the world by Sir Clive Woodward (England’s world cup winning rugby coach, now Elite Performance Director with the B.O.A).
