Burlington Youth Soccer Club is proud to introduce our NEW Lil' Burli program for children aged 18 months to 3 years old. This new program focuses on physical literacy while giving your future star an introduction to soccer. Through fun games and activities, we hope to help our players develop a love for the ball whilst working on their fundamental movement skills.
What is physical literacy?
Physical literacy is about developing the fundamental movements that all children need such as running, jumping, catching and kicking. Physical literacy is essential in helping children develop movement skills. Children who are physically literate will be more confident to play games and will have more fun playing because they know how to jump, run, kick and more.
As suggested by Ontario Soccer guidelines, we ask the players parents to be active and on field with their child during the sessions. This has many benefits, from helping the child with what may be their first steps into a social situation, developing an associate of support and love from the parent with the sport of Soccer, as well as being a good way to get in some exercise with your little one!
